Shortwave ultraviolet
Wollastonite from the Sterling Hill Mine in Ogdensburg, New Jersey is known
for its exceptional beauty under shortwave UV. It fluoresces yellow-orange
or orange with a weak deep red fluorescence from calcite. The deep red
is not seen in the UV photo as it is faint. When quickly brought out
from under ultraviolet light, wollastonite has a brief phosphorescence.
